Foundation Phase Teaching Assistant

Supply Hive Wales are working with a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the CF5 area of Cardiff who are seeking a dedicated Foundation Phase Teaching Assistant for a full-time maternity cover position.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years education and wants to play a key role in supporting pupils throughout the Foundation Phase.
About the Role:
- Full-time, term-time only
- 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover)
- Working across Reception & Year 1
- Supporting pupils with early literacy, numeracy, phonics and play-based learning
- Leading small-group activities and supporting whole-class routines
- Providing pastoral care and helping children settle, engage, and thrive
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider staff team
The Ideal Candidate: ✔ Experience working with young children (school or childcare setting)
✔ Confident supporting early years learning & Foundation Phase pedagogy
✔ Warm, patient, and nurturing
✔ Good communication and teamwork skills
✔ Holds an Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply)
