Pay: £13.75 - £16.00 per hour (paid weekly)

A primary school in Chorley (PR7) is looking to welcome a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a term‑time position supporting pupils within a friendly and inclusive school environment.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside class teachers to support pupils throughout the school day. This may include working with individuals or small groups, helping children stay engaged in learning activities, and supporting the delivery of lessons across different curriculum areas.

You will be part of a supportive team committed to creating a positive learning atmosphere where every child can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils’ learning across a range of subjects
  • Assist class teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to meet pupils’ individual needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour and build strong relationships with pupils
  • Help track and report on pupil progress
  • Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

Requirements

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting
  • A positive, patient, and nurturing approach
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
