We are seeking caring, resilient, and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support students within a specialist SEN school. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children and young people overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their full potential.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support students with a range of additional needs, which may include Autism (ASD), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities.

Your role will involve:

  • Supporting students both in the classroom and during activities throughout the school day
  • Building positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Encouraging engagement, independence, and social development
  • Assisting with behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation
  • Adapting support to meet individual learning needs
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and families

Who We Are Looking For

Relevent experience is essential. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in education, childrens care, youth work, sports coaching, or similar roles. 

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Be able to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Be committed to promoting positive outcomes for every student

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
