The Role

As the Year 5 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in preparing pupils for the transition into their final year of primary education. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging, creative lessons that align with the National Curriculum
• Creating a stimulating classroom environment where pupils feel supported and motivated to learn
• Assessing, monitoring, and tracking pupil progress to ensure strong academic outcomes
• Adapting teaching strategies to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining high expectations for all pupils
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupil achievement
• Contributing to the wider school community and participating in ongoing professional development opportunities

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Has experience teaching within Key Stage 2, with Year 5 experience desirable
• Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills
• Has a strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum
• Can effectively differentiate lessons to support all learners
• Is committed to raising standards and helping pupils achieve their full potential
• Brings energy, creativity, and a positive attitude to the classroom
• Values teamwork and enjoys contributing to a collaborative school culture
