About the Role

As the Year 2 Class Teacher, you will play a key role in helping pupils build strong foundations for future learning while fostering confidence, curiosity, and a love of education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and differentiated lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and maximise outcomes
  • Prepare pupils for a successful transition into Key Stage 2
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to ensure every child reaches their potential
  • Promote positive behaviour, pupil wellbeing, and a lifelong love of learning
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community

✅ The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a teacher who:

✔ Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

✔ Has experience teaching within Key Stage 1, with Year 2 experience desirable

✔ Demonstrates excellent classroom management and organisational skills

✔ Delivers engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge learners

✔ Can effectively differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils

✔ Builds positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

✔ Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing

✔ Brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine passion for education
