Teaching Assistant – Year 4 Behaviour Support

Start Date: September 2026
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Term Time Only)
Pay: £93 per day
Supply Hive Wales is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in the CF3 area of Cardiff for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 4 with behavioural needs.
This is a full-time role starting in September, offering the opportunity to make a real difference by helping a child engage positively with learning while supporting their social and emotional development.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with behavioural challenges.
- Build a positive, trusting relationship to encourage engagement and confidence.
- Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school's policies.
- Support the pupil both in the classroom and during other parts of the school day.
- Work closely with the class teacher and ALNCo to ensure consistent support.
- Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school, care, youth work or similar setting.
- Confident managing challenging behaviour with patience and consistency.
- Calm, resilient and able to build positive relationships.
- A proactive team player with excellent communication skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting children to achieve their potential.
