About the Role
Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a passionate PE Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you'll inspire students to develop their physical skills, confidence, teamwork, and understanding of healthy lifestyles through engaging and inclusive Physical Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and inclusive PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Teach Physical Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing students for GCSE examinations where applicable.
- Deliver a broad range of sporting activities, including team sports, individual sports, fitness, athletics, and other activities where appropriate.
- Create a positive and motivating environment that encourages students to participate, develop their skills, and build confidence.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, using assessment information to inform planning and provide targeted support.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, resilience, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles through PE and sporting activities.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every student is supported to achieve their potential.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, health and safety, and safe working practices during all lessons and sporting activities.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
- Support extracurricular activities, school sports clubs, fixtures, and competitions where required.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong subject knowledge across the Physical Education curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for sport, physical activity, and inspiring students to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
- The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities and backgrounds.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students' physical, social, and emotional development.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
