About the Role

Are you a passionate and enthusiastic PE Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you will inspire students to develop their physical skills, confidence, teamwork, and understanding of the importance of health and fitness through engaging and inclusive lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, challenging, and inclusive PE lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
  • Teach PE to students across a range of abilities, adapting activities and teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Develop students' knowledge and skills across a range of sports and physical activities, including team sports, athletics, gymnastics, fitness, and other activities where appropriate.
  • Encourage students to develop teamwork, leadership, communication, resilience, and sportsmanship.
  • Promote healthy lifestyles and help students understand the importance of physical activity and wellbeing.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their physical and personal development.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment where all students feel encouraged to participate and achieve their potential.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, respect, and sportsmanship during lessons and activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies are followed at all times, particularly during practical and sporting activities.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of PE and the relevant curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and challenging PE lessons.
  • A passion for sport and physical education, with a commitment to encouraging students to participate and achieve their potential.
  • The ability to motivate students of all abilities and promote a positive attitude towards physical activity.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage practical activities safely and effectively.
  • A commitment to supporting students' academic, physical, social, and emotional development.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
