About the Role
Are you a passionate and enthusiastic PE Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a dedicated PE Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you'll inspire students to develop their physical skills, confidence, teamwork, and understanding of healthy lifestyles through engaging and inclusive Physical Education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and challenging PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Teach Physical Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing students for GCSE PE where applicable.
- Deliver a range of practical activities and sports, including team sports, athletics, fitness, and other relevant areas of the PE curriculum.
- Create a positive and motivating environment that encourages students of all abilities to participate and develop their physical skills.
- Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, using assessment information to inform planning and provide targeted support.
- Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every student has the opportunity to achieve their potential.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, resilience, leadership, and a positive attitude towards physical activity.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, health and safety, ensuring students follow appropriate procedures during practical activities.
- Contribute to extracurricular sports activities, clubs, fixtures, and school sporting events where required.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.
Requirements
- Strong subject knowledge across the PE curriculum.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- A passion for sport, physical activity, and inspiring students to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
- Ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
- A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students' personal development.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
