Position: 1:1 Tutor

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutor to provide personalised educational support to pupils in the Wellingborough area.

The tutor will work with pupils either at their home or within a school setting during normal school hours, delivering engaging and structured lessons based on the pupil’s individual needs.

The successful candidate must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching the UK curriculum.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 tuition or personalised learning support.
  • The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons independently.
  • Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.
  • A patient, reliable and supportive approach.
  • An enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Deliver high-quality 1:1 tuition tailored to the pupil’s needs.
  • Follow the relevant UK curriculum and school learning objectives.
  • Identify gaps in learning and develop appropriate support strategies.
  • Build a positive and professional relationship with the pupil.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress.
  • Adapt teaching methods to suit the pupil’s learning style and ability.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers and school staff where appropriate.
  • Help pupils develop their academic skills, confidence and engagement with learning.

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • SEND or additional learning needs.
  • Alternative provision.
  • Supporting pupils who are unable to attend mainstream school.
  • Working with pupils with challenging or complex needs.
  • GCSE and/or Functional Skills preparation.
  • 1:1 tutoring opportunities in the Wellingborough area.
  • Sessions during school hours.
  • Tuition delivered at the pupil’s home or school setting.
  • Flexible and rewarding work.
  • The opportunity to make a genuine difference to pupils’ education and future outcomes.

If you have at least 2 years of teaching experience in the UK and 2 years of experience teaching the UK curriculum, and you are passionate about helping pupils achieve their potential, we would love to hear from you.
