Supply Desk is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Kings Langley from September.

This is an excellent opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential in a positive and nurturing school environment. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO, providing tailored support to children with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties.

The role will involve delivering 1:1 support, assisting with small group interventions, and adapting learning activities to meet individual pupil needs. You will play a key role in promoting confidence, independence, communication, and positive behaviour, ensuring every child is fully supported both academically and emotionally throughout the school day.

As part of a dedicated and collaborative staff team, you will contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe, respected, and encouraged to succeed. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant support experience who is passionate about making a lasting impact on the lives of children with additional needs.

The Role

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
• Support children with ASC, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH, and learning difficulties to access the curriculum.
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support plans and classroom strategies.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation, confidence, and independence.
• Adapt classroom activities and resources to meet the individual learning needs of pupils.
• Build strong working relationships with pupils, families, teachers, and external professionals.
• Uphold high standards of safeguarding, behaviour management, and pupil wellbeing.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a school, childcare, or care setting.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
• Has experience supporting pupils with ASC, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
• Is committed to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for every child.
• Works effectively as part of a team while building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• Is adaptable, proactive, and committed to supporting children's academic and personal development.
• Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
