Are you an experienced and supportive SEN Teaching Assistant looking for flexible work within mainstream schools across Doncaster?

Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of welcoming mainstream schools throughout Doncaster.

This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience supporting pupils with additional needs within mainstream education. Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you may provide dedicated 1:1 support, assist with small intervention groups or support pupils within the wider classroom.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £92.56 - £100 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in Doncaster, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs which may include Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication difficulties and other learning needs.

The SEN Teaching Assistant role in Doncaster offers variety, flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference within a range of mainstream schools across the Doncaster area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN where required
  • Support small groups and intervention activities
  • Adapt support to meet individual pupil needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • Work closely with teachers and wider school staff
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN
  • Knowledge or experience of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
