I am currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant in Southwark to join a supportive primary school and provide high-quality support to pupils with additional needs.

They are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant in Southwark who can develop strong relationships with pupils and work closely with teachers and the SEN team.



The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Southwark, you will support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and develop their confidence and independence.

The role may involve:

  • 1:1 and small group support
  • Supporting pupils with SEND
  • Helping pupils access the curriculum
  • Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour
  • Communication and social development support
  • Classroom assistance
  • Implementing individual support strategies
  • Personal care where required

📍 Location: Southwark
📅 Start: September 2026
🕐 Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
💷 Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
📚 Role: SEN Teaching Assistant

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant in Southwark will ideally have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN
  • Experience working in a primary or educational setting
  • A patient, calm and nurturing approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong classroom awareness
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
  • A proactive and flexible attitude
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs

Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or complex learning needs would be advantageous.
