Teaching Personnel are seeking a confident, resilient, and compassionate Cover Supervisor to join a Secondary SEN School in Oldham from September. This rewarding opportunity is ideal for individuals who have experience working with young people and are passionate about supporting students with additional needs to achieve their full potential.

The school caters for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH), and communication difficulties. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a specialist environment and supporting students who may require additional behavioural and emotional support.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will oversee classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-planned learning activities. You will build positive relationships with pupils, promote a calm and structured learning environment, and support effective behaviour management strategies throughout the day.

• Supervise and deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects
• Support students with a variety of additional learning and behavioural needs
• Maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Implement behaviour management and de-escalation strategies where required
• Encourage student engagement and participation in lessons
• Work closely with teaching staff and support teams to meet individual student needs
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
• Provide feedback to teachers regarding student progress, behaviour, and lesson outcomes

• Previous experience working with children or young people is essential
• Experience supporting individuals with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs is highly desirable
• Confident managing groups and supporting behaviour positively
• Calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Adaptable, proactive, and able to work independently
• Committed to supporting vulnerable learners in a specialist setting
