Are you passionate about working with young people and looking for an exciting opportunity in education from September?

We are working with a fantastic network of mainstream secondary schools across Walsall and Birmingham who are looking for confident, reliable and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join their teams from September 2026.

Whether you're looking for regular supply work, a long-term placement or greater flexibility around your current commitments, we can help you find the right opportunity.

You don't necessarily need to have worked as a Cover Supervisor before. We're particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience working with young people and have the confidence to lead a classroom and support students with their learning.

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • ‍ Supervise classes across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of the usual teacher.
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain engaged with their work.
  • ‍ Support students with their learning and encourage positive participation.
  • Maintain a calm, safe and positive classroom environment.
  • Monitor student behaviour and ensure school expectations are followed.
  • Build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Help young people stay focused, motivated and confident in their learning.

We're looking for someone who is confident, approachable and passionate about working with young people.

You should have:

  • Experience working with children or young people in a school, college, youth setting, sports environment, tutoring, mentoring or similar role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The confidence to manage a classroom and maintain positive behaviour.
  • A calm, patient and professional approach.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • The confidence to work independently and adapt to different school environments.
  • A genuine interest in supporting young people and helping them succeed.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to complete the required safeguarding checks.

Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor is beneficial but not essential. We're also keen to hear from graduates, teaching assistants, sports coaches, youth workers, tutors and anyone with relevant experience working with young people.

Working through an education agency gives you the freedom to find work that fits around you.

You'll receive:

  • Flexible working to suit your availability.
  • Access to a wide range of mainstream secondary schools across Walsall and Birmingham.
  • Competitive daily rates based on experience.
  • Day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities.
  • A dedicated education consultant who will support you throughout your placement.
  • Regular updates about new opportunities in your preferred areas.
  • The opportunity to gain valuable experience within different secondary school environments.
  • Potential opportunities to progress into long-term or permanent education roles.

If you're someone who enjoys working with young people, has the confidence to lead a classroom and wants to build a career in education, we'd love to hear from you!
