SEMH Teaching Assistant - Blandford Forum
Start: September 2025 (Early Start Available - Full or Part-Time)

We are looking for dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistants to work full-time (or part-time) in specialist settings across Blandford Forum, supporting students aged 3 to 19 who face social, emotional, and mental health barriers to learning.
These highly supportive environments offer flexible, student-led learning tailored to individual needs.
Whether you're in a small therapeutic provision, a nurturing alternative setting, or working with learners with more complex emotional or behavioural needs, you'll be part of a team that values patience, resilience, and meaningful relationships.
Each setting is committed to empowering pupils who've struggled in mainstream education-focusing on emotional wellbeing, engagement, and long-term personal development.
Your Role Will Involve:
Supporting students with SEMH needs across primary and secondary levels
Promoting emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills
Encouraging engagement through calm, consistent support
Working closely with teaching and pastoral teams
Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and structured environment
We're Looking For:
Experience in SEMH, youth work, SEN, or care roles (preferred but not essential)
A calm, consistent, and compassionate approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A commitment to helping every child succeed, no matter the barrier
