SEMH Teaching Assistant - Flitwick

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be a key source of support for pupils who require emotional guidance and behavioural consistency to succeed in school. Many of the children you'll work with may face challenges such as:
- Emotional regulation and anxiety
- Behavioural and attachment-related needs
- Low confidence and self-belief
- Difficulties with social interaction and communication
- Trauma-informed needs
- You'll support pupils both one-to-one and in small groups, helping them feel safe, understood, and ready to engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting pupils throughout the school day to access learning
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Helping pupils develop coping strategies and resilience
- Encouraging positive interactions with peers and staff
- Working closely with teachers, SEN teams, and pastoral staff
- Contributing to a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Who We're Looking For

- A team player with good communication skills
- Previous SEMH or SEND experience is helpful but not essential
