Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant

Do you have experience supporting young people who have struggled in mainstream education due to anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties or other mental health needs?

We are recruiting Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants to work within specialist schools that provide education and therapeutic support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role is ideal for individuals who can remain calm under pressure, build positive relationships and support students through challenging situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Helping students remain engaged in lessons
  • Delivering interventions and mentoring sessions
  • Promoting positive behaviour strategies
  • Assisting with de-escalation techniques when required

We're Looking For:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence working with challenging behaviour
  • A positive, proactive attitude
  • Experience  supporting children in education, youth work, coaching or care settings
  • A genuine desire to help young people succeed
  • Full time availability

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
