R.E. Teacher at Poynton – Jan Start – full-time temporary

One of Teaching Personnel’s client schools are currently looking for Religious Education teacher on a full-time temporary basis starting as soon as possible in January. The role will run from January until the end of the school’s Spring term – with the possibility of this being extended until the end of the school year. The school itself benefits from an incredibly supportive SLT department that allows for all members of staff to feel as though they have the tools they need to provide a top quality level of education. The school is located in between Stockport and Macclesfield and is accessible from both of these locations via public transport as well as being close to a main road allowing for easy access from Manchester should you have access to a vehicle.

The role will involve planning and delivering high quality R.E. lessons that are capable of stretching students of all ability levels. The candidate will have to deliver to both KS3 and KS4 and should be confident within a classroom setting. The role will also involve responsibility of raising attainment levels amongst each cohort and using both formative and summative assessment methods to record attainment information and passing this on to the Head of Department and parents where necessary.

  • Pay based on main pay scale ranging from: MPS1: £25,714 - MPS6: £36,961 per annum   depending on experience.
  • Full-time temporary from January until Easter.
  • School Day: 8:30am – 3:00pm.

The ideal candidate should live within commuting distance and will have QTS in R.E. as well as possessing strong behaviour management skills. The candidate should possess the ability to motivate and successfully engage students with their lesson plans and enthusiastic personality. Some of the other essential criteria are listed below:

  • Must have QTS in Religious Education.
  • Strong Literacy and Numeracy Skills.
  • Enthusiastic and engaging personality.

This role would appeal to both ECT’s and more experienced teacher who are looking to expand their subject knowledge and gain experience within a classroom setting in a temporary role that would provide consistent work from January until Easter.
