Functional Skill Tutor New

Location: Stafford (ST16)
Hours: Part-time, weekdays during school hours
Pay: Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Functional Skills Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 tuition for learners in the Stafford (ST16) area.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced tutor, teacher, or education professional who is passionate about helping learners develop their Functional Skills in English and/or Maths, build confidence, and achieve their educational goals.

• Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 Functional Skills tuition.

• Plan lessons tailored to each learner's individual needs and ability.

• Support learners in developing their English and/or Maths skills.

• Prepare learners for Functional Skills assessments where appropriate.

• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.

• Create a positive, supportive, and motivating learning environment.

• Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills English and/or Maths.

• Experience working with children, young people, or adult learners in an educational setting.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or a relevant teaching/tutoring qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with suitable experience.

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• Right to work in the UK.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
