We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join a secondary school in the Luton area as a Cover Supervisor. No previous teaching experience is required, making this an excellent opportunity for someone fresh out of university, considering a career in education, or looking to build experience working with young people.

You’ll receive support to help you settle into the role and will play an important part in creating a positive, safe and engaging learning environment for pupils.

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure pupils remain engaged with their learning.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff.
  • Support effective classroom management and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Adapt your approach to support pupils with different abilities and needs.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Work alongside teachers and support staff to help pupils make progress.
  • Follow school safeguarding, health and safety and behaviour policies.
  • Provide basic feedback to teaching staff on how lessons went.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is enthusiastic about working with children and young people.
  • Is considering a career in teaching, education or youth work.
  • May be a recent university graduate or looking to start a new career.
  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Is confident, approachable and able to build positive relationships.
  • Is reliable, adaptable and willing to learn.
  • Has a genuine interest in supporting young people to succeed.
  • Is available for full-time work and able to travel around the Luton area.

No previous classroom or teaching experience is required — attitude, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in working with young people are what matter most.

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
