About the Role

Are you a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor looking for flexible work in education? Supply Desk is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work across a range of secondary schools, providing classroom cover during the short-term absence of teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexibility, variety, and the chance to gain experience in different school environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their learning.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and provide clear instructions to students in line with the work set by the class teacher.
• Create a positive, safe, and well-managed classroom environment that supports effective learning.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy and maintain high expectations.
• Support students across a range of subjects and abilities, encouraging positive participation and independent learning.
• Monitor students' progress and engagement during lessons, providing feedback to teaching staff where appropriate.
• Ensure students complete assigned work and maintain a calm and purposeful learning environment.
• Build positive and professional relationships with students and work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team.
• Support the effective day-to-day running of the school when required.
• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
• A confident and professional approach to classroom management and behaviour management.
• The ability to supervise and engage students across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to follow lesson plans and instructions effectively.
• A calm, adaptable, and reliable approach to working in a busy school environment.
• A genuine commitment to supporting students' learning, progress, and wellbeing.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
