Cover Supervisor - Stockport Secondary School

Overview:

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors for two secondary schools in Stockport. With several vacancies available, these roles are ideal for someone with experience working in education, as a cover supervisor, or similar childcare roles.

Successful candidates will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular class teacher, ensuring students remain engaged with pre-set work and maintaining a positive learning environment. No planning or marking is required for this role.

These cover supervisor roles are for September start with the potential to continue throughout the whole academic year and possibly go on to a permanent school-based contract.

Pay: £95 -  £110 per day - dependent on experience, qualifications, and specific school.

Duties:

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials in the absence of the classroom teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students remain on task and complete assigned work.
• Create and maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
• Support students with questions relating to the set work.
• Record attendance and report any behavioural or safeguarding concerns.
• Work across a variety of subjects and year groups as required.

Qualifications/ Experience:

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting or as a cover supervisor is desirable
• Degree-level education is advantageous but not essential.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Confident leading groups of students and managing behaviour effectively.
• Adaptable, professional, and reliable approach to work.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
