We are working with a number of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Oldham who are seeking reliable, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work as Unqualified Teachers. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates, experienced youth workers, teaching assistants, sports coaches, instructors, cover supervisors or anyone with experience supporting young people.

As an Unqualified Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absences, manage classroom behaviour, ensure students remain engaged with their learning and provide a positive classroom environment.

No formal teaching qualification is required.

The role:

  • Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students
  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
  • Take responsibility for student engagement and learning throughout the lesson
  • Maintain a safe, positive and productive learning environment
  • Record attendance, behaviour and lesson outcomes where required
  • Support the wider school community and uphold safeguarding standards

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience working with young people, either in education, youth work, coaching, mentoring or similar settings
  • Are confident leading groups and managing behaviour
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can quickly build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Are adaptable, resilient and professional
  • Hold a degree or relevant experience (preferred but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
