As a Supply SEMH Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects and age groups.
  • Create a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and senior leaders.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and pupil wellbeing.
  • Maintain high expectations while encouraging confidence, resilience, and independence.

We're looking for candidates who have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEMH, SEND, or within alternative provision is desirable.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
