About the Role
Are you a passionate and dedicated SENCO Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced SENCO Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play a vital role in ensuring pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to achieve their full academic, social, and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the provision for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the school.
- Identify pupils with additional needs and ensure appropriate support, interventions, and strategies are implemented.
- Develop, review, and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and SEND support plans.
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality, inclusive teaching for all pupils.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to colleagues on SEND strategies and best practice.
- Liaise effectively with parents, carers, external agencies, and local authority professionals to support pupil progress.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEND provision, using data to inform planning and interventions.
- Support pupils with emotional, behavioural, communication, and learning needs, promoting inclusion and positive outcomes.
- Ensure the school remains compliant with the SEND Code of Practice and relevant statutory guidance.
- Promote safeguarding and ensure all safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.
Requirements
- A thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes, and inclusive education.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- A proactive, compassionate, and solution-focused approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
