Supply Desk are seeking a confident, reliable, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Watford from September.

This full-time opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain valuable classroom experience. As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise lessons during teacher absences, ensuring students remain engaged with the work set while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment. This role is well suited to aspiring teachers, experienced Cover Supervisors, or education professionals looking to make a meaningful impact in schools.

Working across a range of subject areas, you will play an important role in supporting students' learning and behaviour while upholding the school's high expectations. The successful candidate will be adaptable, organised, and confident in managing classrooms, with a genuine passion for helping students succeed.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise whole-class lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
• Ensure students remain on task and complete the work provided.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Support students to remain engaged and motivated throughout lessons.
• Report on lesson outcomes and any behavioural or safeguarding concerns.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and pastoral staff to ensure a positive learning environment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A flexible, proactive and professional approach.
• A passion for supporting students' learning and development.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities within schools.
