About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll inspire pupils to develop their musical knowledge, creativity, confidence, and love of learning through engaging and inspiring lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive Music lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
  • Teach pupils across a range of abilities and year groups, developing their knowledge and understanding of music.
  • Develop pupils' skills in singing, performing, composing, listening, and evaluating music.
  • Introduce pupils to a variety of musical styles, genres, instruments, and traditions.
  • Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages pupils to participate and express themselves creatively.
  • Support pupils in developing their confidence and practical musical skills through individual and group activities.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their musical development.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and participation within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to school concerts, performances, assemblies, clubs, and wider musical activities where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Music and the relevant curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for music and inspiring pupils through engaging and inclusive teaching.
  • The ability to plan and deliver creative and stimulating Music lessons.
  • Strong practical musical skills and confidence in teaching a range of musical activities.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupils of all abilities.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS or equivalent.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
