HLTA and Forest School Leader

Rikama Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient Higher Level Teaching Assistant, who is also has a Forest School Leader qualification, to join a fantastic SEMH provision in Bromley. In this role, you will lead the forest school sessions across the school each week, as well as covering classes when staff are absent. You will deliver pre planned lessons to a range of classes (aged 7 -13), as well as support small groups and planning and delivering the forest school sessions. You will work alongside an amazing team who really look after you and you will have a positive, compassionate and energetic approach.

Key Responsibilities


• Planning and delivering Forest School sessions across KS1-3


• Deliver pre planned lessons to classes across the school.

• Adapt the curriculum to meet the individual educational needs of each student.

• Assist students in developing life skills, social, emotional skills and confidence in themselves.

• Build strong, positive relationships with students, their families, and school colleagues.

• Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

• Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to regular reviews of learning plans.

Key Requirements


• Forest School Leader Qualification.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with special educational needs, including SEMH needs.
• Strong communication skills, both with students and colleagues.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, showing flexibility and adaptability.

• Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with students with diverse needs.

• Experience of covering lessons in staff absence.
