Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire

Start date: Monday 3rd June 2024

Contract type: Full-time, temp-perm

As a Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH, you will need to be resilient, have a good standard of education and good behaviour management skills. You will need to possess the skills and attributes to implement strategies and utilise de-escalation techniques to diffuse behavioral issues.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have knowledge of SEN and the safeguarding of children
  • Have high expectations of students behaviour and clear strategies for working with students with challenging behaviour
  • Have the ability to work independently with groups of, or individual, students
  • Have experience of working with children with SEND and SEMH

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children, and preferably students with additional needs
  • Be comfortable working with children with SEND / SEMH
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply
  • Strong work ethic and full-time availability
