The Role:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher in delivering high-quality education and care to students with SEN. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing one-on-one support to students with SEN, both inside and outside the classroom.
  2. Assisting with the planning and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  3. Supporting students with personal care needs, as required.
  4. Encouraging independence and fostering positive social interactions among students.
  5. Collaborating with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to ensure the holistic development of each student.
  6. Monitoring and recording student progress, and providing feedback to the classroom teacher.

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children with SEN, preferably within a school setting.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to the individual needs of each student.
  • A relevant qualification in education or SEN support is desirable but not essential.
