Job Title: Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 3/4)

Location: Burnley

Start Date: September 2024

Hourly Rate: £12.90 - £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with children in a school setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant.

Role Overview: As a Part-Time SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting the learning and development of children in Year 3/4 who have special educational needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to individual students, helping them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies as directed by the SENCO.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students with SEN, providing feedback to the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Support students during transitions between activities and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in a school or similar setting, particularly those with SEN.
  • Knowledge and understanding of different learning needs and strategies to support students with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards inclusive education.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEN support (desirable but not essential).

Working Hours:
