Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? A SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in Bury is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team starting in September.

The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students' well-being and academic progress. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students, assisting them with their learning and personal development.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to implement individualized education plans and behavior management strategies.
  • Building positive relationships with students, offering encouragement, guidance, and emotional support as needed.
  • Assisting with the supervision and management of students during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities.
  • Contributing to the creation of a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.

Requirements:

  • A genuine passion for working with young people and a desire to make a positive impact in their lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Adaptability and a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Experience working or volunteering in a school or youth-related setting is advantageous but not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
