Medium sized Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) located in the London Borough of Greenwich is recruiting a full-time contract Temporary Teacher of English (KS3 & GCSE) to start immediately!

Innovative, dedicated and well supported PRU with strong leadership and staff. Class sizes are small, typically up to 7 students per class which will be supported by the class teacher and several Behaviour support staff. Teaching staff have Qualified Teacher Status and can successfully teach fun and engaging lessons up to GCSE.

Currently recruiting a temporary Teacher of English/ English Teacher (mainstream or SEN setting experience)  join a successful PRU. It is beneficial if you have experience with children diagnosed with either Anxiety/ ASD / SEMH and or Behaviour Difficulties.  You are able to successfully teach interactive, creative and fun English lessons at KS3 & GCSE. This is a well supported PRU with welcoming staff and a great department.

The successful English Teacher / Teacher of English:

  • Available immediately to join a successful team & PRU
  • You have a teaching qualification, ie PGCE / Cert Ed / QTS / QTLS/ Teach First/ SCITT etc
  • Experience teaching English to students with SEMH, Behaviour Difficulties, Anxiety and ASD
  • Knowledge of KS3 and GCSE English curriculum
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • You have an enhanced DBS
  • Able to plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to students with SEMH, Behaviour Difficulties, Anxiety and ASD
  • Able to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students to ensure that their specific needs are met
  • Can monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and carers
  • Able to create a safe and positive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour and social skills
