Job Title: School Support Worker

Pay/Rate: £80-£90

Location: Blackpool, Lancashire

Start date: 15th April 2024

Contract: Flexible

Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a mainstream secondary school in their SEND department. The departments caters towards pupils who have been diagnosed or in the process of a diagnosis with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties and social and emotional difficulties.

The role would consist of working along pupils in either 1-1 or small groups who need additional support to enhance their learning and keeping up to date with each child’s SEND support plan.

The role would be perfect for someone who has previously worked as a support worker due to the great range of transferable skills.

The ideal candidate would have:

• Experience working with people with special needs.

• Patience and resilience to help others.

• Clear communication skills.

• Understanding different needs.

• Behaviour management strategies.

• Had a child enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to get one.

Responsibilities:

• Using a variety of different activities when helping pupils with their learning.

• Putting in place behaviour management strategies to help pupils stay calm.

• Communicating with a variety of staff to ensure children’s learning and development.

• Building strong bonds with pupils to build on their social and emotional needs.

• Motivate pupils to learn.
