A secondary pupil referral unit in Manchester is currently looking for a sports coach to work with young people with social, emotional and mental health needs on a full-time basis. The schools works with students that are currently our of mainstream schools and may display some challenging behaviour.

Within this role you would be responsible for planning and delivering sports lessons within the school, and working to make sure the students are actively involved and you build good relationships with students and staff. You will work with support staff to ensure focus within sessions, and provide feedback to other staff and parents.

For this role you should:

  • Have prior sports coaching experience or be confident in delivering sports lessons and be able to give examples of how you would do this
  • Have experience working with challenging behaviour and knowledge of different social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Have experience working with young people in educational settings
  • Be available full-time

You should also have good knowledge of EHCPs and how these are implemented into schools and lessons, and use this knowledge whilst working with each child to provide individualised support and coaching.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
