Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join our partner school's dynamic team. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education tailored to the unique needs of students with autism and complex learning difficulties. Your lessons will focus on communication, practical life skills, and vocational training, providing students with the essential tools for independent living and future success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students with Special Educational Needs, PMLD, Autism and Complex Learning Difficulties, focusing on communication, practical life skills, and vocational training.
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other specialists to create individualised education plans (IEPs) and ensure that each student receives the support they need to thrive.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to differentiate instruction and meet the individual learning styles and abilities of students.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and carers.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working as a teacher, preferably with experience in SEN education.
  • Strong understanding of autism and complex learning difficulties, along with evidence-based teaching strategies for supporting students with these needs.
  • Ability to plan and deliver lessons that focus on communication, practical life skills, and vocational training.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students with SEN.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
