Teaching Personnel is recruiting for a Graduate SEN Education Support Mentor to join a forward-thinking specialist secondary provision in the Salford area, supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), communication needs, sensory processing differences, and complex learning needs.

This is more than a traditional classroom support role. Your Role

As a Graduate SEN Education Support Mentor, you will:

• Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Help pupils engage with learning and achieve individual EHCP targets.
• Develop students' confidence, communication, and independence skills.
• Support sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
• Assist with life-skills learning, enrichment activities, and classroom sessions.
• Build trusted relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
• Encourage positive social interactions and emotional development.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SEN specialists to deliver tailored support.
• Support personal care where required.

Who We're Looking For

This opportunity is ideal for graduates who:

• Hold a degree in Psychology, Education, Criminology, Sociology, Health & Social Care, Childhood Studies, Sports Coaching, or a related subject.
• Have experience working with children or young people through placements, volunteering, tutoring, coaching, care work, youth work, or mentoring.
• Are passionate about inclusive education and supporting vulnerable learners.
• Possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Are resilient, empathetic, and proactive in their approach.
• Want to gain specialist SEN experience before progressing into their long-term career.
