Salary: £80 - £90 Per day

The Secondary SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a secondary school setting. The role involves providing support to students to help them access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.

  • Assist students with SEN in their learning activities, both in groups and on a one-to-one basis
  • Support the classroom teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Assist with personal care tasks for students with specific needs, as required
  • Engage with parents and carers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on support strategies
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Relevant experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the individual needs of students
  • Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent
  • Additional training in specific areas of SEN support
  • Work primarily during school hours, with some additional hours for planning and meetings
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
