Seeking a Psychology Teacher - September 2024 start! (Option to start sooner if possible)

 

On behalf of a partnered Trust, we are currently supporting a lovely school based in Romford to find a Psychology Teacher to join them for the new academic year. This particualr school are dedicated to providing a dynamic and enriching learning environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychology Teacher to join the team and contribute to our mission of fostering intellectual curiosity and personal growth.

As a Psychology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to engage and inspire students through the exploration of psychological theories, research, and practical applications. You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and interactive lessons that stimulate critical thinking, foster curiosity, and deepen students' understanding of human behavior and mental processes. In addition to teaching, you will have the opportunity to mentor and support students, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the vibrant academic community at our school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and objectives.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and growth.
  • Engage students in meaningful discussions, activities, and projects that promote critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Incorporate a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance learning and address diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support academic growth and achievement.
  • Foster a positive and respectful learning community where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and support the overall mission and goals of the school.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills, stay current with research and trends in psychology education, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification or licensure in Psychology or Secondary Education (or willingness to obtain).
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level (preferred).
  • Passion for teaching and a genuine interest in psychology and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
