PPA Teacher Key Responsibilities:

  • Covering Lessons: Provide cover and deliver engaging and effective lessons across different year groups and subjects during teachers' absence or PPA time.
  • Curriculum Alignment: Ensure lessons are aligned with curriculum objectives and standards, maintaining continuity in students' learning experiences.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs and abilities of students, adapting teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Assessment & Feedback: Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support their learning and development, recording attainment and progress as required.
  • Collaborative Engagement: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless transitions between cover lessons and regular classroom activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

PPA Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Hold QTS and possess relevant experience teaching in primary schools.
  • Versatility: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to teach across different year groups and subjects, catering to the needs of students and the school's requirements.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Have a strong understanding of the primary curriculum and proficiency in planning and delivering effective lessons across various subjects.
  • Classroom Management: Exhibit excellent classroom management skills, maintaining order and discipline in the absence of regular class teachers.
  • Communication Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
