Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths Teacher seeking a rewarding opportunity to inspire students in a diverse secondary school setting? Teaching Personnel is delighted to announce a full-time position for a Maths Teacher at an Ofsted Good, diverse secondary school in Ashton-under-Lyne. This role begins in September for the full academic year, with the potential for permanent placement based on performance. The salary for this role is in line with PayScale (£30,000 - £46,525).

Role Overview:

As a Maths Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and effective mathematics education to students across key stages 3 and 4. You will have the opportunity to create dynamic lessons that ignite students' passion for maths, promote problem-solving skills, and support their academic progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver comprehensive Maths lessons in line with the national curriculum and examination board specifications, covering a range of topics and concepts.

  • Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate teaching strategies and resources to accommodate students with varying abilities and learning styles, ensuring that all students are appropriately challenged and supported.

  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess students' understanding and progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to guide their learning journey.

  • Individualized Support: Provide additional support and intervention to students who require extra assistance, helping them to develop confidence and proficiency in mathematics.

  • Promoting Mathematical Skills: Foster a positive attitude towards maths and promote the development of essential mathematical skills, including numeracy, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

  • Behaviour Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning, implementing effective behaviour management strategies when necessary.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification with a specialism in Mathematics.

  • Passion for mathematics education and a commitment to promoting student achievement and engagement in the subject.

  • Experience teaching Maths at the secondary level, with a sound understanding of the national curriculum and assessment requirements.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that cater to students' individual needs and interests.
