Learning Support mentor

Teaching Personnel has been made aware of an exciting new role at a school in Ormskirk. The school needs a Learning Support Mentor to work closely with a small group of pupils who are struggling to access education because of their social, emotional or behavioural challenges. The pupils often have needs which affect their behaviour including, SEMH difficulties and ASC.

The school caters for pupils across KS2- KS4 who struggle to access mainstream education. To be successful in this role a candidate must be able to use innovative strategies in order to overcome barriers to a pupil learning. A candidate must be energetic, motivating and passionate about making a difference in students’ life.

An ideal candidate should be able to differentiate work for the individual needs of the pupil and have the ability to apply holistic teaching strategies to help the students stay engaged.

Experience working with challenging behaviours is preferred but not essential.

The working hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday.

Rate of pay will be dependent on experience and will start from £11.85 - £15.25 p/h.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
