Start date: Monday 13thMay 2024.

Contract type: Full time (Mon-Fri, 8:30-4:30) temp to perm potential.

Pay rate: £12.82 - £13.50.

Are you looking for a new, exciting and fulfilling role which involves supporting young individuals with their additional needs? This role could be for you!

As a HLTA you will be required to work closely with specific individual students, offering any additional support they may need. You will help to develop their social and emotional skills by delivering supportive interventions and by implementing relevant behaviour management strategies. You will monitor, record and review the progress of the individual students and liaise with parents and teachers to ensure maximum progression and to ensure the pupil is comfortable and happy in their learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Confidence to step up in the teacher’s absence if required.
  • Experience/confidence with handling challenging behaviour.
  • Able to remain calm in high pressure environments.
  • Ability to support pupils on a 1-1 basis as well as in small groups.
  • Develop communication and interaction, personal, social, emotional and academic skills.
  • Must be positive and solution focussed.
  • United and mutually supportive.

This KS3 – KS4 specialist provision in the Leyland area is looking to recruit this HLTA from May 2024 dependent on the successful applicant’s availability. This provision delivers highly personalised learning programmes and work in close partnership with local schools, local authorities and external agencies and parents/carers. Pupils are taught in small groups, where they study the core curriculum and receive any extra support they require. In addition to the core curriculum, this provision provides rich and varied curriculum opportunities ranging from vocational courses to academic programmes that support pupil’s personal and social development.
