Quantum Scholars is currently working on behalf of a genuinely welcoming and highly regarded secondary school in High Wycombe that is seeking to appoint an exceptional Head of RE on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspirational educator to lead a successful and well-established RE department within a supportive school environment. RE is a core subject at the school and continues to be an extremely popular choice at A-Level.

The school is seeking an outstanding practitioner who is enthusiastic, passionate, and motivated to inspire young people through high-quality teaching and leadership. The successful candidate will be committed to ensuring every student achieves their full potential and will play a key role in driving the continued success and development of the department.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the RE department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning
  • Deliver engaging and inspiring RE lessons across Key Stages 3-5
  • Develop and implement an ambitious and inclusive curriculum
  • Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment and achievement
  • Support, challenge, and develop colleagues through effective line management
  • Foster a positive and collaborative departmental culture
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and enrichment opportunities
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic success


Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Proven experience teaching RE at secondary level, including A-Level
  • Previous middle leadership or departmental leadership experience would be advantageous
  • Strong track record of delivering excellent student outcomes
  • Ability to support and motivate colleagues through effective leadership
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Passionate about RE and committed to inspiring students
  • MUST have the Right to Work in the UK
  • MUST be currently based in the UK
