Job Opportunity: General Teaching Assistant

Location: Tameside, Greater Manchester

Position Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teaching staff to support classroom activities and assist in the delivery of lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued and supported.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) and tailor your approach to their individual requirements.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a respectful and orderly classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to assess and monitor students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a GCSE in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • Relevant teaching assistant qualifications or experience is desirable.
  • Passion for working with young people and supporting their educational journey.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
  • Commitment to upholding the school's values and ethos.
