As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and pastoral teams to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of additional needs. You will play a key role in creating a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN needs
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities
  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, behavioural, and academic development
  • Help maintain a calm, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
  • Encourage pupil independence, confidence, and participation in learning
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff
  • Support behaviour management strategies and emotional regulation where required
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and external professionals
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN needs (school-based or transferable experience welcomed)
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
  • Confidence building positive relationships with pupils

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
