Are you experienced in supporting children with special needs? Are you seeking rewarding one-on-one work with children outside of traditional school settings?

This English tutoring position could be perfect for you, especially if you have prior experience in teaching, as a teaching assistant, or in one-to-one SEN support or tutoring. Located in the Calverton (NG14) area, this role focuses on working with primary-aged children.

As an English tutor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing tailored support to children with Special Education Needs such as ASD, SEMH, or PMLD, either at their homes, care facilities, or in local settings like libraries, as agreed upon with parents or caregivers.
  • Designing resources and activities to address each child's individual learning needs, particularly in English.
  • Engaging children effectively in learning tasks and ensuring accessibility to the curriculum.
  • Implementing behavior management strategies and maintaining a positive learning environment.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and enhance your CV. Accessible by road, bus, and tram, the positions are based in the Calverton (NG14) area.

What we're seeking in an English tutor:

  • Experience in SEN support, whether as a teaching assistant or in one-to-one settings.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions tailored to individual needs.
  • Skills in fostering confidence and facilitating learning progress.
  • Experience in managing challenging behaviors.
  • Ability to assess and provide feedback on learning outcomes.

Successful applicants will need to provide evidence of these skills and undergo background checks, including possessing a current DBS certificate (update service registered), which Teaching Personnel can assist with if necessary. The working hours are Monday to Friday, approximately 09:00 - 16:00.
