The Role:

As an English Teacher in our school, you will play a pivotal role in inspiring students to explore the depths of literature, language, and effective communication. You will be responsible for teaching English to students at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, delivering engaging and interactive lessons that foster critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons catering to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore literature and enhance their language proficiency.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate students in their literary and linguistic journey.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and guidance to support their language and writing development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement an effective and comprehensive English curriculum.
  • Contribute to literary events, writing clubs, and extracurricular activities to further enrich students' English language experiences.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to support student progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in English or a related discipline.
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (GCSE and A-level experience preferred).
  • Passion for teaching English and inspiring students to engage with literature and develop strong communication skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the school's continued success.
