Position: Drama Teacher

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire (BB2)

Start date: Monday 2nd September 2024

Contract: Monday – Friday, initially until July 2025.

Salary: MPS/UPS

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Drama department, part of the successful Creative Arts Faculty, within a warm and welcoming Secondary school in Blackburn, Lancashire. The successful candidate will be committed to planning and delivering high quality, interesting curriculum, which will challenge and inspire all of our students.

Extra-curriculum is also important to the department and the successful candidate will assist with after school exam rehearsals and performances, assist with the annual whole school production and lead the weekly KS3 Drama Club. You will also contribute to whole faculty events, for example the Year 9 Diversity Day.

We are looking for a teacher who displays the following characteristics:

  • Enthusiasm for working with 11–16-year-old students.
  • A thoughtful and self-reflective approach to pedagogy.
  • A desire to be an outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • A passion for the subject.
  • Excellent ICT skills that make learning visible in the classroom.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a continued desire to develop further.
